Good morning, Kitschies! We're almost half-way through another week. How can the time possibly go so fast?! *sigh* It's a little cooler here today, which is nice, but all that does is make me more unhappy when it warms up again.
I don't know about you, but I'm ready for Summer to be finished. But, that doesn't mean I'm ready to change my nail color yet (even though I'm wearing a decidedly un-summer color today). I'm linking up with On Wednesdays We Wear Pink today and have a super shimmery, fun summer color to share with you.
I was pretty quick to grab Zoya's Summertime collection when it came out earlier this year. How can you resist gorgeous glass-fleck cool-toned colors? I couldn't!
This beauty is Zoya Rica. It's a pretty strawberry pink base with gold glass-fleck (shimmer). The Zoya site rates this as 4 (out of 5) for opaqueness, but I don't think it's quite that opaque. At 3 coats, there is some obvious VNL with flash in this picture.
I would *almost* call this a duochrome, but not in the classic sense. The amount of gold shimmer you get depends on the amount of light. With flash, there is definitely more pink that gold, but when you get in more indirect light, this is what you see...
I like the pink, but I love Rica even more when she's more gold than pink. It's glittery but not in-your-face like chunky glitter can be. Rica is definitely one of my favorite pinks (up among the ranks with ChG Strawberry Fields)!
What do you think of Rica? Do you have any of the Summertime collection? Which one is your favorite?

On Wednesdays We Wear Pink: Shrimply Divine
Good morning, Kitschies! It's Wednesday. Again. Nothing too exciting going on in the land of Suburbia. I'm typing this out on Tuesday night because Wednesday morning we have some lame training at work, so I thought I better get a jump on this before I miss the bus completely. And I'm pretty tired tonight, so it's probably going to be a short post.
It's Wednesday, so it's time to link up with On Wednesdays We Wear Pink!
Quite a while ago, ok, a LONG time ago, I asked the bestie what color combo I should do for a funky french mani. She said pink and black. This is what I came up with.
I started with a base of SH Complete Salon Manicure: Shrimply Divine (thanks Emily!) then creating a chevron tip, I used Finger Paints: Easel Come, Easel Go and SH Black Out. Then where the three colors meet, I added a pink rhinestone.
I don't remember exactly, because it's been so long, but it looks like I must've used Seche Vite as my top coat because I have quite a bit of tip shrinkage.
I like this mani, it's cute, but it's not one of my favorites. I need to do more chevron french tips - they're different and there are so many great color combos!
Short and sweet. My kind of post! LOL Check out On Wednesdays We Wear Pink for other great participating pink blogs!
And don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY!

On Wednesday We Wear Pink: ChG Ahoy!
Happy Wednesday! The good thing about 3-day weekends? The week is short and Wednesday comes before you even realize it. The bad? It seems that 5 days of work are still squeezed in to those 4 days. Tuesday wasn't a bad day back to work because the docs weren't in. Wednesday is shaping up to be pretty busy. I have a feeling the rest of the week will follow suit. But there's light at the end of the tunnel because I only have to get through two more days and then it's the weekend again!!
I've haven't participated much in On Wednesdays We Wear Pink, but I decided to link up today and I have a really pretty pink to share with you.
This beauty is ChG Ahoy! from the Anchors Away collection released earlier this year. This was one of two that I picked up from the collection (the other was White Cap). Ahoy! is a gorgeous jelly-ish base of raspberry with lighter pink sparkle (that refused to be picked up with my camera). Taken indoors with flash.
If you click on the pic, you can see a bit of the sparkle on my ring finger. Anyway...this is 3 coats with the picture taken in indirect sunlight.
The formula and wear on this was standard of ChG. This color reminds me a lot of ChG Strawberry Fields, only with pink shimmer rather than gold.
After looking at my other OWWWP posts, I realize that I have a preference for this shade of pink. I promise my next pink post will be a little bit different pink. Promise!
Enjoy your Wednesday and be sure to check On Wednesdays We Wear Pink for other participating pink bloggers!

Pink Wednesday: Iconic - REPOST
This is the post that got away last week when Blogger was being super lame. So, yeah.
Good day, Kitschies! It's been a day. Nothing exciting to report other than some light rain showers earlier in the day. Super exciting, right? Yep.
I'm linking up with On Wednesdays We Wear Pink again to share a beautiful pink polish with you.
I'm sure you've seen this one all over the blogs, but you haven't seen it on mine yet: Cult Nails Iconic.
Iconic is a gorgeous berry pink with subtle gold shimmer and flakies. These pics were taken indoors with flash. In the brightness of the flash, you can't really see the flakies, but trust me, they're there.
You can see some of the gold shimmer and flakies in the bottle here, but again, this is bright direct sunlight.
See? I told you. :) There are those beautiful flakies and a bit of the gold shimmer. This color is definitely a stunner. This is my favorite color for nail polish...and then add some flakies in there? *swoon*
The wear was very good with this polish. But, if you're like me, you can't leave your polish alone if you've been wearing it for more than two days. So, I grabbed a little something to jazz it up a bit.
You guessed it...SH Hidden Treasure. I love Iconic by itself, and Hidden Treasure is nice, but it was a little too over the top for this one, in my opinion.
I know I said the wear was good, but I didn't tell you *how* good. I wore this mani for *at least* 4 days with very minimal tip wear and absolutely no chipping. If I ever need a quick, go-to mani, Cult Nails Iconic is definitely it!
Check out On Wednesdays We Wear Pink for a complete lists of blogs who participated this week. Happy Wednesday! See you soon. :)

Pink Wednesday: Milani Digital
Yep. I'm baaaack. And I'm back with another attempt at On Wednesdays We Wear Pink (since last week's post got dumped by STOOPID Blogger). I'm not a "Plastic", but I appreciate a good pink polish. Let's get on with it, shall we?
I picked up this polish a while back (a couple months ago?) but hadn't found a time to fit it in to the rotation. I finally decided to give it a try for Easter (yeah, I'm behind on my mani blogging - what of it?).
This is Milani Digital. A pink scattered holo. It's not in-your-face like Nfu Oh 61, but it's still a pretty holo. This was taken indoors with flash.
Outdoors, bright direct sunlight. The thing about the Milani holos is that they're not really at their best in bright light. It's almost like they need artificial light to really show.
Outdoors, shade. In indirect light, you can see more of a silver sparkle than a holo flash. Milani holos are a great option if you want something sparkly but not obnoxious. The formula on this was a little thin, but not as thin as Hi-Tech that required I don't know how many coats, but this is 3 coats. And the wear was a little better than average for a holo.
Happy Pink Wednesday! Check out more Pink Wednesday blogs HERE.

On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink
Well...at least us nail bloggers do! A couple weeks ago, the nail blogging community started "On Wednesdays, We Wear Pink" a la Mean Girls. So, this is my first entry (the day is full of firsts) to Pink Wednesdays.
Not that I'd consider myself a mean girl by any means, it's fun to play along every now and then, right? Here we go...
This, my dears, is OPI Do You Think I'm Tex-y. Ugh. I don't get the whole "cute" name thing with OPI. I mean, I get it. I just don't like it. Anyway...this is from their Texas collection that was released in February and it's one of the "sorbet" finishes (read: jelly). Yes, I know, it's a little different from the usual jelly finishes, but I don't reallycare know/can't really tell the difference.
I miss my long nails! This mani was super bright raspberry color that wasn't so bright as to be obnoxious. Does that make sense? And it was super shiny, too. This pic was taken indoors with flash.
See how shiny that is? Seriously. If it hadn't been for the plaid design I did on my ring finger, I probably wouldn't have used a top coat. This was indoors without flash.
OK. I know this pic is basically about the same as the one just above it, but look at the insane shininess!
Direct sun. I love this color. I've picked this one up and put it back in to its home more than a few times. I didn't buy in to the hype that surrounded the release of OPI's sorbets, but I did pick up this color because it was so pretty in the bottle - it did not disappoint.
As a side note...Zoya's annual Earth Day polish exchange started today! So, between now and April 27th, you can exchange your old, ugly polish for new, gorgeous Zoya polish. Check out the Zoya blog for more details.
