Ugh. It's Monday. Again. This weekend went by in a flash. We had the besties over for dinner, drinks and some games - it was a lot of fun and the food was GOOD (if I do say so myself), but the kids...they had their own plans. The babies just would NOT go to sleep so they ended up leaving earlier than we planned. And then Sunday was spent getting things organized in the house and the garage. I wanted to go out to the park or something with the boys but it's been wicked windy here, so we hid out in the house. Nate and I made cookies yesterday (post to follow eventually) and Mason...well...he did his thing (which includes a lot of yelling/screaming on his part because that's how he communicates for now).
A couple weeks ago I posted a request for color combinations for a funky french. I got lots of answers, but one in particular stuck out. One of my friends from high school recommended blue and white: our school colors. So, this mani is for you, Lisa!
This is the first free-hand French that I've tried and I've got to say that it was much easier than I expected. I started with Color Club Trippie Hippie for the tips and after some clean up with acetone and my round Filbert brush, this is what it looked like. But, I couldn't leave it there...
I grabbed my Bundle Monster plates and decided that a trail of stars would work perfectly with this. This is BM14 with SH Xtreme Wear in White On. Lisa had suggested silver, but I wanted the stars to really stand out. I got lots of compliments on this mani - people just can not believe I do my own nails. Why is this so hard to believe? It's really not hard if you have the right tools!
This is definitely a win! I loved the colors and the white added a little something to an otherwise meh French mani. The only drawback to this was that you can see staining on my nail beds. It's not horrible, but I notice it.
French manis and I have a love/hate relationship. I love them. They're pretty. You can do a lot of different things with them. But...it seems that no matter what, I end up breaking a nail. So, right on schedule, I ended up having to cut one down because it tore at the corner. Then this weekend I ended up chopping them all off because I had another break. Now I'm back to nubbins. *sad Megan*
Well..I'm off to do some work. Enjoy your day - see you tomorrow!

Cool mani! Love the stars!
That is a very cute mani. Makes me remember my school colors from high school - blue and gold. I liked our mascot - a Mustang! Still, glad I'm done with school. Rocking mani!
Very impressive! My HS colors were blue & white, too.
Once a driller always a driller - lol! Beautiful Mani. And the right tools does not make an artist. You are extremely talented!
Yes it really is amazing you do it yourself. Those do look great. And kids and sleep does sometimes ruin the best plans
This is so pretty with the stars! Awe too bad you had to file them down. I feel your pain. Seems like since Christmas I can't keep ANY kind of length on my nails. WEAAAAK.
Question. How is it French with stars and blue? haha
I love this! Its really cute and pretty. I remember my school colors was red and blue.
You are way creative! I love those nails! You could totally rock those at 4th of July!!!
Nubbins are how mine are all the time. I have the thinnest nails ever. Boo.
I like this look very much. I wish it was as easy as you say though. I can't get my Konads to work out. Only one, lone nail will look good. :(
I wanted to tell you, I tagged you for a nail challenge. Come over and look. ;p
Sorry about the breaks :( Maybe use an extra coat of base and topcoat since your nail isn't being protected by the usual number of coats? The stars really make this mani amazing!
LOOOVE the stars, those are really fun!
My little one is a pill any time I want to do anything. I can totally relate to the Mason meltdown. LOL
This is AWESOME!!! Love the color combo too :)
The stars are awesome! Boo on the breaks!
