Think Horses

...and not zebras.  That's a rip-off of something they teach you in med school.  When you hear hoof beats, think horse, not zebra.  In other words, don't look too far in to something because, chances are, the solution (or, in this case, diagnosis) is simple.

Good evening, Kitschies!  We made it through Tuesday, and I. am. tired.  Being so bogged down at work is really kicking me in the booty.  I am beyond grateful to have a job, much less one that I love.  But, I'm ready for things to go back to normal.  I just have to be patient - and anybody who knows me will tell you (readily) that I wasn't patient enough to stand in line when god handed out patience.

I must've been tired the night I tried this mani.  The afternoon before I did this, I emailed my bestie and asked her what I should do.  First thing out of her "mouth" was ZEBRA!  OK, then.  Let's do this thing!
I started off with Sally Hansen Black Out on all but my ring fingers and then Finger Paints Easel Come, Easel Go! on the ring fingers.  EC,EG is a bright silver foil - great consistency, 2 coats for complete coverage and perfect for stamping.  This was my first attempt at a whole-nail stamp.  I had some difficulty.
It didn't look bad, but it didn't look good.  I got really frustrated because I couldn't line up the image exactly right.  I had to overlap some of the design (you can really tell on my ring finger).  I got lots of compliments with this mani, but I was not impressed with myself.  I know, I know.  Practice makes perfect.  But, we are our own worst critics!
I was so not impressed that I ended up taking this off the very next night - I usually wear a mani for at least 2 days, and 3 lately.  Even somebody at work (a new medical assistant) asked "Do you change your nail polish EVERY night?"  I wanted to say Yeah, what's it to ya?  But I told her no, but I couldn't deal with the design I had on for one more moment.

So, there ya have it.  First full-nail image was a pretty good fail.  You win some, you lose some.  Now it's your turn to share.  Have you had a mani "malfunction" that you couldn't stand to look at more than 24 hours?  If you have a blog, did you share it with the world or did you quietly hide your hands in your pockets and walk away?

I'm off to watch the season premier of Parenthood.  There are many reasons I like this show, but the #1 reason?  Two words: Peter Krause.  I love that man!  How much do I love that man?  I watched Dirty, Sexy Money *just* for him (because the show was HORRIBLE).  Oh, and Lauren Graham ain't half bad, either.  See you tomorrow!

I like this mani! I'm sad you didn't love it, maybe with different colors you would like it better?

I thought the mani looked great! And yes we are always our own worst critic!!! By the way, you have learned patience over the years, especially now that you have the boys - and I should know, I knew you when you were a kid - lol!

I just did my first full nail pattered mani also. It took a lot longer to complete then I thought!

Your mani is definitely not a fail though ;)

It looks really nice, and TBH there's a thing going on about having the ring finger looking slightly different, so I never noticed about the overlapping !

oh my, this one look so so great, too bad you weren't in love with this as much as you are in love with Peter Krause!

So I guess this is the zebra print you were talking about. I still think that it is not a fail. I love it. The color combo is really good.=))

I've never heard about Parenthood so I think that now is the right time for me to do some research=)

I love Parenthood too!!! My Direct TV box is broken & the guy can't come out till Sunday so I can't watch any of the shoes I recorded on it. We have 3 other DVR's in our house & I feel like I have NOTHING to watch because all MY shows are on the one that is broke. Stupid freakin technology anyways!
