Monday, Frustrating Monday

If there is something you must do and you cannot do it, you cannot do anything else. ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Neurotic's Notebook, 1960 This is how my evening is going.

It's Monday again, Kitschies. What did you do today? I went to work for the first time in a week. While the time off was nice and deserved, it was kind of nice to be back into the routine. I know I've said it before, but I like my job.

But, what did I do at work today? Now that's the real question! Besides the usual work stuff, I finalized my order for the Zoya Exchange Program. If you haven't checked out this program (it runs through June 30th), I highly recommend you do. A bottle of Zoya is regularly $7, but with this program, they swap you bottle-for-bottle for $3.50. Total. No shipping. How can you pass up that deal? They have a HUGE selection (over 400 shades) so you're bound to find a least a few colors that catch your eye. It was a hard decision, but your votes really helped me choose the final order. Between my BFF and I, we sent in 10 bottles of unwanted polish (and I was afraid I couldn't come up with 6!). I had originally chosen Reece, Delilah and Adina. With help of the poll, I chose Charla (of course - it had the majority of votes), Yasmeen, Ki and Ibiza. I was going to pick Happi, too, but I decided it was too close to Reece and decided to go with Lianne instead. Besides, I have more than a few pinks in my collection, so I mixed it up a bit with a tangerine shimmer. BFF chose Roxy and Gilda (both colors I'm going to have to borrow at some point, I'm sure). I can't wait to get these!!

The dark horse winner: Lianne

Well, I had a totally different post planned for you tonight, but none of the pages I need are loading properly (including hotmail). GAH! So, in the meantime, I'll give you a quick review of the mani I did last week before hubs and I left for our anniversary get-away. As I showed you in my previous post, I had some nail damage (read: total breaks) while playing ball with my sister. I wanted to do a french mani, but you can't really do that with multiple nail lengths, so that'll have to wait. I think I've worn this color before, but I liked it, so I decided to do it again. So, here it is: Finger Paint's Signed by the Artist.

3 coats with topcoat

I probably could've gotten away with 2 coats, but I could see bald spots and that would've driven me crazy, so I went with 3. I always need a topcoat with Finger Paints; it seems their formula dries a little on the flat side. Signed by the Artist is a really pretty rosy pink shimmer. This is one of the first 3 polishes I picked up that started this whole polish hording disorder (PHD). The wear on this one was ok - I had very little tip wear but did have some cracking/chipping, but I attribute that more to the length of my nails than the quality of the product. I have since shortened my nails and we'll see if that helps with the chipping for the next mani. I love painting my nails, but I'd really like a mani to last more than 2 days at a time.

So, there you have it. The post that wasn't meant to be (yet). Now I think I'm going to get ready for bed and curl up with a good book. Oh, that reminds me! Neil gave me Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Volume 1 for our anniversary (I dropped a hint or 2 (or 10) about this book months ago). If you're crazy about the Twilight series, you need to have this in your collection. It's a must have for Twilight fans. AND...Eclipse comes out at the end of the month. I know the BFF and I are going to see it in the theater. Are you?

And one more thing. Do you watch Breaking Bad? There's only one more episode before the 3rd season finale. I. LOVE. THIS. SHOW! Bryan Cranston, in my opinion, is the best actor around. The episode that aired Sunday (Half-Measures) made both me and the hubs gasp out loud! Breaking Bad is filmed here in Albuquerque, so it's really neat to see locations around town, but it doesn't make The Q look very hospitable. If you saw this week's episode, what did you think?

Coming soon: breakfast and dinner recipes for the slow cooker and a challenge mani.

Listening to: Substitution by Silversun Pickups
Mood: frustrated!

I just got my Zoya exchange and am thinking of doing another before the end of June. They have so many great colors.

If I had known about this, I would've had SO many to send them. When I got back in to the polish fetish, i went through my old stuff and threw out a BUNCH! Oh, well...hindsight.
